Have you ever wondered who takes care of the memo board and flower boxes around our neighborhood? It's neighbors like you who care about the neighborhood.
Your time and money is needed again. Many of the flower boxes have outlived their purpose and need new posts and boxes to fill with lovely flowers that add character and quality to our neighborhood. So, please consider sending a donation. We have over 230 residents back here and each box will cost roughly $100 each for custom-made quality box/post/stain by Huber Lumber.
The following neighbors have made donations:
Donna and Fred $20
Barb and George $25
Duffy Family $20 in memory of "Xenos" - a beloved black lab who passed away last month
Saul Family $20 in memory of Art, Mary, Sue, Jeff, Bob, Janet, Allan, Joe, Carol, Arlene

Memo Board & Flower Boxes
Hello Neighbors,
Have you ever driven down the street and wondered who maintains the flower boxes and memo board? It's neighbors like you who care about the neighborhood. In the past, neighbors like you donated money and their time for the upkeep of the flower boxes and memo board.
How do you make a donation? Send a check in the mail to Donna Saul, 491 Deanview Drive, or put a twenty dollar bill in an envelope and drop it by my home. In the past, neighbors like you were acknowledged in posts right here on this blog, street by street, first names only, with their generous donation. The same will happen this time unless you specify to remain anonymous.
Make a donation in memory or honor of a neighbor you miss. I'll start by making a donation in memory of Sue, Mary, Art, Jeff, Carol, Allan, Arlene, and Joe, neighbors who rocked this neighborhood (and school community) with their energy and love for the view. No last names, no addresses. Just a simple acknowledgement will be made on the blog here showing you care like the rest of the neighbors living here in View Place.
One more thing, about the email and followers on the blog. Email me at "viewplacenews@yahoo.com" if you have general questions or announcements but I'm not someone who answers right away. Be patient or if it's urgent, drop by my home anytime. I see lots of hits on this blog and wondered, why aren't you following? Do you want to remain anonymous? By all means, please follow us here on this blog site. The more the merrier. And it shows you really care about what's going on.
Wishing you a happy holiday,
Donna on Deanview

Sad News...Joe Closson passed away!
We are sad to lose another very good man, Joe Closson, who passed away on October 21st.
The Joe and Rhonda Closson Family have been long time good neighbors in View Place and community advocates up at the school and faith community. His memorial was last Saturday, November 4th, in case you missed it. It's never too late to reach out to our neighbors in their time of loss. Joe will always be remembered for his volunteering in the community, helping friends and family in their time of need, and raising an awesome family of caring and compassionate people. It's been a tough year losing Jeff Dean and Joe Closson. Please remember to keep their family in your prayers.

Mr. Beach passed away...
One of our very endearing naturalists and all around good neighbor, Allan Birr Beach, age 90, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2017. A long time advocate for wildlife protection and member to many organizations and clubs, including the Cincinnati Zoological Society and National Audubon Society, Mr. Beach lectured on many topics sharing his love for all things wild and beautiful. He will be missed by so many people who cherished his company and stories.
Our condolences and sympathy go to his wife, family, colleagues, and friends.

Truth About Road Repairs in Springfield Township
It's election time again, friends. And it's important you get factual information, not arm-chair conspiracy theories. In an article recently, Mark Berning, explained the truth about road repairs, JEDZ, and other misinformation that has been printed about Springfield Township.
For the rest of the article, please click on the link here
As your township trustees, we feel you need to have the facts concerning the township’s road repair program. The trustees have long recognized the importance of maintaining our roads. In 1996, the trustees proposed and the electors passed the township’s only road levy - a 1-mill levy which generates approximately $500,000 per year. We have been successful in obtaining millions of dollars in state and other grants to repair our roads since 2000. Despite this success, the trustees have recognized that the funds generated by the road levy and grants we have obtained are not sufficient to pay for the cost of repairing all township roads.
On four occasions, the trustees placed on the ballot a levy to address infrastructure and road repair needs. Each levy was narrowly defeated.
Mr. Hufford asserts that the township did not spend money on road repairs before the Joint Economic Development Zone was enacted in 2014. This is not true. The township, in conjunction with grants, has spent on average $1,574,599 per year on road and infrastructure repair since 2000.
In 2014, the township experienced a severe financial crisis as a result of unprecedented state budget cuts whereby Ohio officials kept our tax dollars rather than returning them to local governments, as they had traditionally done. The Board of Trustees showed leadership by placing the JEDZ issue on the ballot and it was approved by the voters.

In Memory of our neighbor and friend, Jeff Dean...
Dear Friends and Neighbors in Viewplace and elsewhere,
I am writing to tell you that Jeff Dean passed away last Sunday, March 5th, 2017.
Jeff was a community advocate and activist here in Finneytown. He grew up here in View Place, attended Finneytown schools, and moved away after college.
When his kids were growing up, he & his wife Lynette decided to make View Place their home so they could be near Jeff's mom and dad, Robert and Janet Dean. As Jeff and his family adjusted to their new life here in View Place, Jeff and his wife became very active in our school district and community. He was always looking out for neighbors who cared about quality life issues and the environment. He stayed current and active on important environmental issues which would have impacted our neighborhood directly. Jeff got the job done and will be sadly missed for his advocacy and patriotism.
He will also be missed by his family and friends.
His obituary is online if you want to reach out to his family.
Our hearts go out to everyone who knew and loved this man.
He was an awesome human being!
