Hello Neighbors,
Have you ever driven down the street and wondered who maintains the flower boxes and memo board? It's neighbors like you who care about the neighborhood. In the past, neighbors like you donated money and their time for the upkeep of the flower boxes and memo board.
Your time and money is needed again. Many of the flower boxes have outlived their purpose and need new posts and boxes to fill with lovely flowers that add character and quality to our neighborhood. So, please consider sending a donation. We have over 230 residents back here and each box will cost roughly $100 each for custom-made quality box/post/stain by Huber Lumber.
How do you make a donation? Send a check in the mail to Donna Saul, 491 Deanview Drive, or put a twenty dollar bill in an envelope and drop it by my home. In the past, neighbors like you were acknowledged in posts right here on this blog, street by street, first names only, with their generous donation. The same will happen this time unless you specify to remain anonymous.
Make a donation in memory or honor of a neighbor you miss. I'll start by making a donation in memory of Sue, Mary, Art, Jeff, Carol, Allan, Arlene, and Joe, neighbors who rocked this neighborhood (and school community) with their energy and love for the view. No last names, no addresses. Just a simple acknowledgement will be made on the blog here showing you care like the rest of the neighbors living here in View Place.
One more thing, about the email and followers on the blog. Email me at "viewplacenews@yahoo.com" if you have general questions or announcements but I'm not someone who answers right away. Be patient or if it's urgent, drop by my home anytime. I see lots of hits on this blog and wondered, why aren't you following? Do you want to remain anonymous? By all means, please follow us here on this blog site. The more the merrier. And it shows you really care about what's going on.
Wishing you a happy holiday,
Donna on Deanview

WinterFest is around the corner!
Dear Neighbors!
As a valued member of the Springfield Township community, I invite you to take part in Springfield Township’s WinterFest event on Saturday, December 2nd. ArtsConnect, the Township’s non-profit arts and enrichment organization, is holding a parade along Winton Road, beginning at noon. After the parade, families will enjoy a seven cottage winter village filled with free family activities, concessions, concerts, student performances, hay rides, petting zoo, ice sculpture demos and so much more! A flier is enclosed with a schedule of activities.
Please consider participating in this community celebration by being in the parade, submitting a military veteran for the Hometown Heroes wall or by volunteering for the event.
Enclosed is a parade letter and application. You may have already received this in the mail. Not a paper person? No problem! You can also confirm your involvement in the parade with our easy online registration at https://www.theartsconnect.us/247/WinterFest-Parade. Military Hometown Heroes (past and present) can be submitted at https://www.theartsconnect.us/252/Cards-for-the-Military. (School are encouraged to participate in the art show, parade, tree decorating and holiday performances!)
We hope to see you December 2 for this amazing celebration.
Please call me with any questions you may have.

Sad News...Joe Closson passed away!
We are sad to lose another very good man, Joe Closson, who passed away on October 21st.
The Joe and Rhonda Closson Family have been long time good neighbors in View Place and community advocates up at the school and faith community. His memorial was last Saturday, November 4th, in case you missed it. It's never too late to reach out to our neighbors in their time of loss. Joe will always be remembered for his volunteering in the community, helping friends and family in their time of need, and raising an awesome family of caring and compassionate people. It's been a tough year losing Jeff Dean and Joe Closson. Please remember to keep their family in your prayers.
